Why do I need to buy MIC’s shares through an EMD?
New regulations were put in place in February 2020 by British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) which restricts Mortgage Investment entities such as Mortgage Investment Corporations (MIC) to sell shares directly to the public. MICs are obligated to provide services to the public through the Exempt Market Dealers (EMDs) to raise the MIC’s capital.
